Seasons of Birth, 2016

The Gibber, the Gift was part of a group show in which individual artists from diverse backgrounds responded to a given point in the process of human life. This work was a response to Station 14: the naming and the blessing of the child; I see within the Old Testament naming tradition of placing a child within her extensive familial lineage, as form of acknowledgment of her personal DNA (micro) alongside the physical reality of time and place (macro). This work shifts between being an interior and exterior landscape.
